For vintage acoustic archtops that have very little clearance between the strings and guitar top, an elegant solution from Kent Armstrong's hand-made shop in Vermont: only 8-mm thick instead of the usual 1.1-cm depth. Width is the narrow JS [Johnny Smith] style. Smooth top only with no adjustable pole pieces. 2-wiring lugs is standard; 4-lug wiring is available as a custom-build option.
Floating style Humbucker
for 6-string Jazz guitar
Ebonized epoxy cover
smooth top | no pole adjustors
The Kent Armstrong "floating" side-mount style humbucker pickup. The standard for Jazz guitar.
Smooth top [no pole pieces] with continuous internal rail capture the full 360-degree vibration of each string make this a very true pick-up accurately representing what your guitar is producing. And it's extremely quiet with complete shielding.
There is more beneath the surface. Kent Armstrong makes these pickups with 30% more windings while forgoing the traditional bobbins of the original "G" Corp's JS design. These factors help give Kent Armstrong's pickups more power, greater string definition and overall presence...all major components of that elusive "Jazz tone."
The result is a slender suspended pickup that produces all the rich, full and warm sound of a built-in PAF design. In Kent's words: "you give up nothing."
For attachment to pick guard. Includes shielded cable.
NOTE: 2-wiring lugs is standard. 4-lug wiring is available as a custom-build option.
