Another model from Raezer's Edge working in partnership with SOUNDISLAND: The Raezer One-6 COMBO.

"I can’t believe how good that amp sounded last night!!!  Every note was as clear as a bell.  I can’t believe how it handled the bass with that 6” speaker! It sounded better than the 10" in my [alternate brand]. WOW!!!!"

The One-6 COMBO cabinet was co-developed to meet the needs of Jazz guitarists who require a highly portable Pro quality amplifier. The diminutive One-6 delivers while preserving that rich clear signature sound of Raezer's Edge cabinets powered by Acoustic Image amps.

And it's all housed in a convenient single cabinet for convenient "grab-and-go" portability. The Clarus head can be easily removed with two screws on the back of the cabinet.

The package includes a vinyl cover and Speakon speaker cable. Your choice of Acoustic Image Clarus S4 1-channel or 2-channel [priced separately].

The Reazer's Edge One-6 COMBO: ultra compact in overall dimensions, yet big and warm in tone.

  1. Review of the Raezer’s Edge ONE-6 Combo with Acoustic Image Clarus S4

Review of the Raezer’s Edge ONE-6 Combo with Acoustic Image Clarus S4

I purchased the Raezer’s Edge ONE-6 Combo with the Acoustic Image Clarus S4 amplifier from Michael at Sound Island in Seattle about two months ago.

    http://stores.soundislandmusic.com/raezers-edge-one-6-combo/

I play in a jazz trio with guitar, saxophone/clarinet, and bass. Sometimes we use a second guitar or a piano in lieu of the saxophone. All of the rooms I play in are fairly small (50 to 100 seats). We provide primarily background music for wineries and restaurants.

Since owning this amp/speaker configuration, I have used it multiple times. Each time I use it, I am amazed at how great this system sounds. I play a Gibson ES-165, a Martin John Mayer acoustic, and an Ibanez Yairi Nylon string. For the guitars I am using and the venues I play in, the Clarus/Raezer’s Edge combo works perfectly.

I have had many people comment on how great the guitars sound through this system and they are constantly amazed when they see its size (only about 22 lbs.). On several occasions, I actually had two guitars playing through the amp simultaneously and the sound was still very good.

The main thing I’ve found about this system, especially when I first started using it, is you need to take it on its own terms. Given that the cabinet is a 6” speaker, there are some obvious limitations, especially if you compare its sound to larger speaker cabinets. However, after using this a time or two, I no longer notice the difference in sound compared to my larger cabinets and I have no need to use anything bigger. I get perfect clarity, full dynamic range, and more volume than I will ever need. The other obvious benefit of this system is its portability. I no longer need to make two trips from my car to the club.

I also found Michael at Sound Island to be very helpful, candid, and truly interested in helping me find the best system for my needs. I will definitely buy more equipment from Sound Island and I will also be recommending it to anyone who is looking for Jazz Guitar products.

Mike Choman lives in North Central Washington and performs 10 to 12 times a month in the surrounding area at wineries, restaurants, and other venues with the” Confluence Jazz Trio” and “Sixteen Srings.” Mike has been playing guitar for over 40 years and has recorded two cd’s with the Sixteen Strings trio: “Live at the Alley Café” and “At the Woodshed.” Mike studied music at the University of Montana and at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. He teaches Accounting and Economics at Wenatchee Valley College.
