The Schertler bridge mounted electrostatic STAT-V pickup plus STAT-PRE preamp to provide 9v battery phantom power and volume control.

The STAT-V pickup is ideal where high SPL volume levels must not present a handicap. Play in loud music environments? Chose the the STAT-V either with or without the DYN contact mic. The STAT-V provides:

High feedback resistance
Impressive "bridge sound"
NO piezo harshness or distortion

The patented Schertler STAT-V electrostatic bridge pickup for violin and viola stands out for its high feedback resistance and for delivering an impressive bridge tone without the harshness or distortion of piezo pickups. Located under the high string in the bridge wing cutout, STAT-V delivers a direct and punchy sound.

Unlike shrill or metallic piezo pickups, Schertler STAT-V accurately reproduces the warm sound of your strings. The bottom of the violin/viola sound is impressively reproduced with all its depth and body, while the highs are clear and bright.

NOTE: The STAT-V pickup requires a nominal 9-10v phantom power charge. If you don't own a Schertler DAVID or UNICO amp with their built-in STAT adaptor or need to connect to various alternate sources, the SET model is a great choice because it includes the STAT-V pickup, cable and battery-powered STAT-PRE preamplifier with volume control. Alternatively, the STAT-V-SELECT is bundled with the more sophisticated PRE-A III preamplifier.
