The Henriksen JazzAmp 112 is a 1x12 multi purpose combo that voices with an open and muscular Henriksen sound.
The all-analog circuitry in the JazzAmp 112 is the same as the Head and Head-R. This translates to plenty of available volume coupled with a strong, well defined fundamental at virtually any Jazz level.
At 120 watts RMS @ 8-ohms (160 watts RMS @ 4-ohms), the additional power increases the distortion free SPL by 4db from 111dB to 115dB in comparison to the original 60-watt JazzAmp 10s. This ensures clean headroom at all frequencies including those below 200hz that are critical in hearing a sense of body in the notes.
In its new model 112 iteration, Henriksen packs all this into a compact cube, light weight, and fan-free cabinet that easily handles Jazz or acoustic-oriented gigs.
Originally, the JazzAmp 112 was developed for Double Bass eliciting input from Steve LaSpina, David Gage and other notables. It also sounds pure with UEB and fretless electric bass.
Then guitarists started plugging in and found that in "real life" the Henriksen JazzAmp 12-R also makes for a great Jazz GUITAR amp. Today, most Sound Island customers use it for this purpose.
In either application, the larger 12 inch speaker mounted in a deep ported cabinet enclosure provides the 112 with a big bodied sound and warm highs. Compared to the more compact 110 model, the 112 has a fuller sound combined with softer attack.
The Henriksen 112 just plain sounds "right" with the EQ at 12Noon...flat. Still, Henriksen's unique 5-band EQ is highly effective at either "tuning" the amp for a particular room or "voicing" it to fit a particular musical need.
The newest chassis redesign includes a 115v/230v switch ensuring world-wide operation.
