The SE200 is Evans flagship combo amplifier. The magic starts with Evans own 15" speaker custom made to their engineering specifications and housed in a specifically tuned, semi-open back cabinet for that traditional airy "tube amp" sound and feel.

The FET design of the preamp circuit emphasizes even harmonics allowing the SE200 to deliver warm tone characteristics highly reminiscent of vintage late 1950's and early 1960's all-tube amp designs...but in a package that is at once reliable, portable and much lighter in weight. Evans unique EQ section provides complete control over tonality so that a player can precisely dial-in "their" voice for a particular guitar or room.

With a state-of-the-art digital power section delivering 200 watts RMS, the SE200 has all the headroom necessary to deliver that tone even at ear splitting SPLs. This also enables the SE200 to respond like a Jazz amp meaning linearly and without lag or "sag" so that as the player changes volume settings the tone and speaker behavior remain constant and predictable.

The result is a highly pragmatic solution to the coveted "tube sound" voiced specifically for Jazz guitarists. The SE200 will deliver detailed bass, rich mids and warm highs along with that wonderful tube-like signature on the harmonics at any volume level.
