Schertler David is a highly accurate yet compact ACOUSTIC instrument amplifier. It excels at classical guitar (aka nylon-string), flat-top folk style guitars, mandolin, and violin.

From JULY 2010 Schertler is shipping the new DAVID with more power, a new speaker system to increase the sound quality and avoid sound loss, and upgraded cosmetics.

The new DAVID continues to have the same mixer layout and the same features as the earlier generation model. This includes Schertler's "Resonance" filter that is particularly effective for the DYN series contact dynamic microphones.

The David model is perfect for the acoustic artist requiring two input channels and maximum portability. Elevated on a PA speaker stand with its built-in adaptor, the Schertler David easily covers small-medium sized rooms. If neccessary, an excellent DI allows connection to mains or board.

In the David, Schertler has engineered two independent power amps with an active crossover each individually supplying the custom long-excursion 6" woofer and the 1" dome tweeter. Schertler's biamplification technology produces a highly transparent sound and extracts maximum efficiency per watt because all components are perfectly matched.

Volume levels on the Schertler David can be turned way up and yet the amp remains composed, simply reproducing the detailed sound of your instrument with precision.

At the touch of a button, David's "warm" filter on the STAT channel eliminates the harsh upper-frequency sound of many undersaddle pickups. For microphone users, Schertler's "resonance" control on the DYN channel allows the musician to attenuate the specific low-mid frequencies that often produce feedback or an unnatural bottom-end. Both channels can be used simultaneously and blended on the amplifier's control panel.

Schertler's innovative CLASS-A circuitry and built-in analog spring reverb deliver the warm, smooth and musical sound that acoustic musicians seek. Schertler builds its amplifiers with bipolar transistors (no MOS-FET) for their natural sound characteristics and quick response plus a traditional power supply (toroidial transformer) which provides the robust low end. In addition, each power amplifier features limiter circuitry to provide secure speaker protection.

The result is velvety, clear upper harmonic content with a controlled, strong low end (down to 40 Hz).
