AER Basic Performer is AER's answer to the long scale lengths, huge body sizes and resonance characteristics of the acoustic bass instrument.

In keeping with the AER tradition, the sound characteristics of the AER Basic Performer are full range, open and naturally "airy."

AER's system array of small twin-cone speakers is perfect for bass - their fast reaction allows for superior coverage in the critical mid-range yet with substance and authority in the bass range.

In the Basic Performer, four AER 8"-twin-cone speakers are each individually powered by its own 60 watt power amp. Combined, the 240 watts through 4 speakers provide both the required surface area and the necessary sound pressure level.

While originally designed for acoustic bass, the AER basic performer is surprisingly appropriate for far more instruments such as harp, cello, accordion...and even Jazz guitar!
